Posted 31 May – AM Hi everyone hope your all staying safe, my laptop has joined the covid 19 syndrome and gone into lockdown, I am stuck at, choose your keyboard layout i have spent the last 5 hours trying every cmd prompt available to get it to reboot from the correct drive, i really dont know where to turn next, when i start up the first screen i see is choose your keyboard layout then i am given the options for troubleshoot but none of them will repair the LT, i tried to download the windows 10 recovery onto 2 different USB on this pc but kept getting an error and they would not download??

Do you need any data off this computer and if you do you you have another device to store it on? Download the iso option using the Media Creation Tool. What is the make and model of the computer?

If you don’t have another device see if you can get into reset by doing the following. Cold boot the computer and when you see the spinning circle press the power button until it shuts down. Do this two more times. The Advanced Recover Options will open.

From there see if you can boot to Safe Mode or do a Reset with the option to keep your files. All your programs would need to be reinstalled.

If your files are in any other location than documents to downloads they may be lost. Are you saying when you ran the MCT and selected iso download it failed? If all your data is on a separate d drive then there is no worry. Those are backed up? If you have another computer then download the iso file directly from Microsoft using Windows iso downloader. Run the tool and select your Windows 10 version. When finished post back. What OS is on the computer you have access to?
